Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, others miss out at 2024 MTV VMAs

The MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) unfolded in New York on Wednesday night, bringing unexpected moments, standout performances, and a mix of winners that spanned genres and styles. Anitta once again proved her star power by winning Best Latin for her hit “Mil Veces,” while K-Pop icon Lisa took home Best K-Pop for “Rockstar,” solidifying her international appeal.

Ariana Grande’s “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)” won Best Cinematography, and Taylor Swift’s “Fortnight” also received Best Editing, showcasing the depth of visual storytelling in today’s music scene. Best Visual Effects went to Eminem’s “Houdini,” a visually stunning piece that captivated viewers with its innovative techniques.
