Broda Shaggi shares near-death experience as he marks birthday

Popular comedian Samuel Perry, widely recognized as Broda Shaggi, has opened up about a near-death experience while celebrating his birthday. 

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Shaggi shared that he typically keeps his birthdays low-key, often turning off his phone to avoid the attention. However, this year felt different after a close brush with death made him realize the preciousness of life. 

Expressing deep gratitude for being spared, he reflected on the profound purpose behind his survival, noting that he’s no more deserving than others who didn’t get the same second chance.

He wrote: “Birthdays aren’t usually my thing. In fact, I often switch off my phone to avoid the birthday buzz. Only those close to me know Shaggi isn’t Samuel, but that’s a story for another day, lol.

“This birthday is different, though, because I almost lost my life recently, but God intervened and gave me another shot. I’m happy, grateful, and humbled, knowing that many others born today aren’t here to celebrate. I’m no better than them, but God has spared me for a purpose.”

Shaggi invited fans to celebrate with him by listening to a special birthday song he created, available on all music platforms. 

This birthday, for the comedian, is a true testament to life, gratitude, and purpose.
