Bovi Asserts Women Dominate Nigeria’s Entertainment Industry
Nigerian comedian Bovi highlights that women have already conquered the entertainment industry, citing key figures like Funke Akindele, Mo Abudu, and Kemi Adetiba as proof of their dominance
Nigerian comedian and actor Bovi has highlighted the significant strides women have made in the entertainment industry, asserting that they now dominate the very field they continue to fight for equality in. During his appearance on TVC’s Your View, Bovi emphasized that women have already taken control of the industry but may not realize their victory due to their longstanding struggles.
He explained, “Women need to understand that in areas where they are fighting for equality, they may have already won but don’t recognize it because they’re used to fighting.” Bovi pointed out that many influential women have shaped Nigeria’s entertainment landscape over the past decade, referencing figures like Funke Akindele, Mo Abudu, Kemi Adetiba, and Jade Osiberu.
He concluded by encouraging young women to leverage the influence women already hold in the industry to combat issues like harassment, saying, “Women own the industry, so speak up to those in power.”
