On April 1, 2025, controversial cross dresser and social media star Bobrisky took to his Instagram to say that he had been arrested by immigration in Nigeria. It racked up reactions. The post featured a screenshot of Bobrisky’s Instagram story saying, “Guys, have just been arrested by immigration in Nigeria. I don’t know what I did o.” It stirred mixed responses. Some fans expressed frustration, pleading, “Can’t they just leave this babe alone?” Others pointed out the date—April Fool’s Day. They suggested it was a prank. They also added that Bobrisky wasn’t even in Nigeria.

This isn’t Bobrisky’s first brush with the law. In April 2024, the transgender influencer, whose real name is Idris Okuneye, pleaded guilty to four counts of currency abuse in Lagos. A common Nigerian celebratory act, he was charged with “spraying” naira notes at social events. The court dropped two money laundering charges. However, the incident marked a significant legal battle for him. While this was a notable case, the Bobrisky alleged arrest rumors added more to her history of legal troubles.

Later, in October 2024, the Nigerian Immigration Service intercepted Bobrisky at the Seme Border while attempting to leave the country. This followed a public feud with social media activist VeryDarkMan. He leaked an audio allegedly featuring Bobrisky claiming he bribed officials to avoid prison. He also claimed that Falz and Femi Falana sought N10m for a presidential pardon—claims he denied. He even mocked VeryDarkMan on Instagram, saying, “Nurse Titi, your patient is out again.”
The Bobrisky alleged arrest news was surprising given her past incidents. Bobrisky remains a polarizing figure through his social media platforms like Snapchat, TikTok, and Instagram. While some see the latest arrest rumor as a playful April Fool’s stunt, others debate her legal troubles and societal impact. This keeps him at the center of Nigeria’s cultural conversation, with the Bobrisky alleged arrest continuing to spark discussions. The Nigerian Immigration Service has yet to make a statement following the alleged arrest.
