Beirut rocked by multiple blasts as Israel says it attacked Hezbollah headquarters
The attack is a "dangerous game-changing escalation", Iran's embassy in Lebanon says, after reports Israel was targeting Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.
Today, Beirut has been shaken by a series of powerful explosions after Israeli operation in Hezbollah’s main stronghold in southern suburbs. According to Israel Defence Forces (IDF), the attack was carried out as part of a large-scale operation that aimed at the destruction of Hezbollah’s missile and rocket arsenals. These strikes have also fueled the tensions in the area with more than one reported dead and major damages done. The future of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah is still unknown as the threat of further escalation of conflict between Israel and Hezbollah increases.
