Bandits attack mosques during Jumat prayers
Bandits attack Dan-Ali community in Katsina during Jummat prayers, causing chaos and forcing worshippers to flee. Number of kidnapped residents unknown.
Armed bandits wreaked havoc in Dan-Ali, a community in the Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina State, launching a brutal attack during Friday's Jummat prayers. The assailants stormed the area, armed with deadly weapons, and opened fire, sending worshippers fleeing from local mosques.
Eyewitnesses reported that the gunmen invaded the community without warning, causing chaos as they shot sporadically and pursued terrified residents. While the exact number of those kidnapped remains unclear, the audacity of the attack has left the community in shock.
Efforts to reach the Katsina State Police Command for comments have so far been unsuccessful, as the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Abubakar Sadiq, was unreachable at the time of reporting. The incident adds to the growing wave of insecurity plaguing parts of Katsina, further heightening concerns about the safety of worshippers and residents in the region.
