AY Makun Expresses Frustration Over Lack of Support Among Men in Filmmaking
Nigerian comedian and filmmaker AY Makun criticizes the lack of support among men in the entertainment industry, highlighting his resilience in staying relevant.
Popular Nigerian comedian and filmmaker, Ayo Makun, widely known as AY, has voiced his disappointment over the lack of support from men in the entertainment industry, despite his dedication and hard work.
Taking to his X handle, AY lamented that men often prioritize supporting women over their male counterparts, questioning societal expectations for recognition and support.
He wrote, “One day, men will reveal what men have done to men. We work tirelessly to stay relevant and fulfill our responsibilities. Must we have breasts and curves to earn the support of fellow men? I am still the only man left in filmmaking who hasn’t quit due to lack of support.”
AY’s candid post has sparked conversations about gender dynamics and support systems in the creative industry.
