Arsenal is attempting to sign Spanish star, Joan Garcia

Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth reports that Arsenal is reportedly considering signing Spanish player Joan Garcia. This transfer window has been active for the Gunners as they want to bolster their roster and eventually win the Premier League title this season after coming close to doing so the previous two seasons. In an effort to bolster the engine room, they have been trying to sign Mikel Merino and have already purchased Riccardo Calafiori to bolster the defense. According to reports, Mikel Arteta is looking for a new striker, and Arsenal has been connected to a number of players this summer transfer window.

Speaking on GiveMeSport, Sheth has since revealed that, should Aaron Ramsdale ultimately depart the team before the deadline, Arsenal may also try to recruit a new goalkeeper. Since Raya joined the squad last summer, the Englishman has found himself on the outside, and there have been rumors that the former Bournemouth star may depart to play regular first-team games. Even Ajax Amsterdam has shown interest in acquiring him. Sheth goes on to say that Arsenal has been closely monitoring Garcia's progress lately and may try to sign him if Ramsdale eventually departs.

Given that the 23-year-old would be joining Arsenal to replace Raya, and given that his present deal has a £21 million release clause, he won't be an inexpensive addition. Garcia is an effective goal keeper and skilful with the ball at his feet, making him a modern-day goalkeeper. He is also a skilled aerialist who can fill the job of sweeper-keeper. In light of this, if Arsenal were to acquire the Spain U-21 international, he might prove to be a great long-term addition. 

If Ramsdale does decide to leave the team before the end of the transfer window, it will be intriguing to see if the North London team decides to sign Garcia in his stead.
