In the wake of ongoing backlash over the tragic death of actor Junior Pope, Nollywood actress and filmmaker Adanma Luke has issued a heartfelt public apology. In a moving video that has gone viral on social media, Adanma, visibly emotional, took full responsibility for the incident, which occurred on her movie set.
With tears streaming down her face, Adanma addressed Nigerians, expressing deep sorrow for the loss. "I’m truly sorry," she said. "I took away your loved ones, or so people are saying. It pains me deeply that this tragedy happened on my set. I’m trying to stay strong, but I’m struggling."
Adanma explained her anguish over the incident, acknowledging the role of destiny while lamenting the harsh criticisms directed at her. "I didn’t plan for this to happen to Junior Pope and the crew. Please forgive me," she pleaded.
The incident, occurred on April 10, 2024, when a boat carrying Junior Pope and four crew members capsized in the River Niger near Asaba, Delta State. Adanma Luke was the producer of "The Other Side of Life," the film on which Junior Pope was working at the time.
