Mavin A&R Director Discusses the Mavin Academy Structure

Mavin A&R director Rima Tahini discusses her role, working with artists, and Rema’s journey.

The Mavin A&R director Rima Tahini, in an interview on the Culture Custodian YouTube channel, discusses how she joined Mavin Records, her inspiration to work with the label, her role as an A&R director, the process of working with artists, and much more.

She states, “We train our artists, and it feels like a school a bit. It can be six months, it can be two years, but overall the artist must be talented. We’re not magicians. Rema was my first artist.”

She further discussed how Rema was integrated into the label and how they worked with him. Rima Tahini is also the wife of popular Nigerian artist John Ighodara, known as Johnny Drille.
