More positive news concerning the police force has been released after a new update revealed that the police conducted a sweeping of a region in Lagos to apprehend suspects they believe to be increasing vices in the area. The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended at least 35 suspects involved in traffic robberies during a series of operations conducted over the past week, covering areas from Ajah to Elemoro.
Confirming the arrests on Saturday, the command’s spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, stated that the suspects were taken into custody during tactical operations in the Ajah region.
Among those arrested on February 24 were Alao Oluwafemi, Adeshina Akinrinde, Udoh John, Afolabi Kola, Daniel Augustine, Olalekan Qudus, Shittu Lanre, and Azeez Olalekan.

Additional suspects detained within the same week include Olayemi Moses, Oriyomi Ojo, Ismail Mubarak, Alabi Ibrahim, Bashir Umar, Nasiru Muhammed, Ashiru Sanni, Babalola Ibrahim, John James, Rafiu Yakubu, and Basit Azeez.

The list also features Adebayo Oyebode, Oriyomi Williams, Sahabi Lawal, Benjamin Peter, Aanu Ayoade, Aminu Abubakar, Olayiwola James, Sahedu Abubakar, Taiwo Fawasi, Muhammed Monsuru, Abdullahi Ibrahim, Uche Achuoye, Samuel Olapade, El-Kamal Ibrahim, Hammed Taofeek, and Jamilu Usman.
According to Hundeyin, the arrests were executed by tactical teams stationed in Elemoro, overseeing the Ajah axis, which extends from Lekki Phase 1 to Epe.
“Our tactical unit based in Elemoro, covering the Ajah area, including Lekki Phase 1 to Epe, carried out these operations,” he stated.
He further emphasized that similar tactical teams operate across other parts of the state, tasked with apprehending violent criminals and ensuring they face justice.
When questioned about the efficiency of the recent arrests and the potential for extending these efforts to other high-crime areas, CSP Hundeyin affirmed, “Every tactical team has the same mandate.”
