On Tuesday, a Magistrate court in Yaba, Lagos, determined that Naira Marley, along with his associate Sam Larry and Prime Boy, had no case to answer concerning the tragic passing of Mohbad. The court did, however, state that an auxiliary nurse who administered an injection to Mohbad and his friend Ayobami would face prosecution for their reckless and negligent actions.
Following the court’s decision, Naira Marley took to his Twitter and Instagram accounts to share verses from the Quran. One verse highlighted the theme of trust in Allah, stating, “And whoever puts all his trust in Allah, he will be enough for him.” Another verse spoke to the concept of divine justice, noting that while people may conspire against others, Allah is the ultimate planner.
In his message, Naira Marley expressed the emotional toll of the situation, stating, “I never thought silence could be so loud. I never thought someone I called my brother, someone I protected, would leave this world with my name in his shadow. I have carried this weight, this pain, this shame that was never mine to bear.” He also mentioned having made peace with Mohbad prior to his passing.
Naira Marley acknowledged that mistakes were made but emphasized that they stemmed from business rather than conflict. He indicated that he and Mohbad had a mutual understanding beyond the disputes. Furthermore, he expressed disappointment, claiming that those who were close to him allowed fans to vilify him and label him a killer while knowing the truth of the situation.

He remarked, “I welcomed you all into my home. I gave you my trust. And yet, my brother is gone, still not buried, and that is your fault. Telling the truth from the beginning would have given him the rest he deserves.
