Dayo Amusa Opens Up on Emotional Struggles with Infertility and Journey to Motherhood

Renowned Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa has opened up about her emotional and physical struggles with infertility, recalling a deeply painful moment when she broke down in tears, pleading with God to bless her with a child.

In a recent interview with Debbie Shokoya, Amusa recounted how she reached a breaking point, crying out to God in front of her domestic staff, giving Him an ultimatum to either fulfill His promise of motherhood or take her life. Despite these efforts, she faced disappointment after disappointment, leading her to a breaking point where she felt completely hopeless. She expressed her frustration after undergoing multiple medical checkups and surgeries in a desperate bid to conceive.

“I remember singing at the top of my voice, crying deeply without caring that my maid and domestic workers were present. I told God, ‘It’s either You take my life now or You fulfill Your promise to me.’ I was exhausted, both physically and emotionally. I had undergone countless medical tests and surgeries. I told God that if motherhood was still part of my destiny, He should let it happen, and if not, He should take me instead,” she shared.

Her journey to motherhood, however, had a happy ending. In November 2024, Amusa welcomed her son, Oluwafirewamiri, a moment that marked the fulfillment of her long-awaited dream.
