Nollywood actress and filmmaker Mercy Aigbe has opened up about a health crisis she endured while filming her latest movie, Thinline. In a recent Instagram post, she revealed waking up on set one morning with severely swollen and painful eyes, which led to her hospitalisation and a temporary halt in production.
The actress explained that the condition was diagnosed as a severe eye infection. “We couldn’t film, we had to break set, and the pain that came with this was excruciating. I was hospitalised. In fact, it was a whole lot of challenges!” she shared.
Despite the setbacks, Mercy expressed gratitude for navigating through the challenges, describing the production process as an emotional rollercoaster. “It’s been an experience on this journey with Thinline, a whole lot of challenges, but in all, I still give God the glory,” she added.
In a lighthearted moment, Mercy recounted a conversation with someone who jokingly speculated if her struggles were related to the storyline of the movie. She dismissed the idea with a laugh, saying, “I don’t think so oh!”
Mercy described Thinline as a project born out of immense dedication and effort, infused with hard work, pain, blood, and sweat. She thanked fans who have already supported the film and encouraged others to visit the cinemas to experience it.
