Femi Adebayo's film Jagun Jagun has achieved remarkable recognition, securing seven nominations at the 2024 Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA). The nominations were revealed during a vibrant ceremony in Lagos on Wednesday, attended by members of the jury, the AMAA screening college, and the board of the Africa Film Academy (AFA).
Jagun Jagun is nominated in several prestigious categories for the 20th edition of the awards, including Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Achievement in Production Design, Achievement in Costume Design, Achievement in Makeup, Achievement in Visual Effects, the Ousmane Sembene Award for Best Film in an African Language, and the NFVCB Award for Best Nigerian Film.
Thrilled by the news, Adebayo shared the excitement with his followers through an Instagram post on Thursday, stating, “Hey guys, we have done it again! I’m delighted to announce that Jagun Jagun clinched seven nominations at the 2024 AMAA AWARDS nominee announcement yesterday.”
The event also welcomed notable figures such as Shaibu Husseini, the Director General of the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB), alongside George and Chinyere Anyiam-Osigwe, Kennedy Anyiam-Osigwe, Raymond Anyiam-Osigwe, Steve Ayorinde, Francis Onwochei, Sunny McDon, Norbert Young, Segun Arinze, Alex O, Cordelia Okpei, Dr. Queen Blessing Ebigieson, and Charles Novia.
